Ch 11. What Is MTTB?

I have just completed the MTTB 21 step course and am about to begin the Traffic Coaching Session (first one tonight, 2130 Sat 08 Jan 2014).  So what do I know now that I didn’t know before?  It’s probably less about what I “did not know” so much as “did not completely understand the significance of”.  To that degree I am, today, confident that there are no holes in my understanding of the issues of building a profitable online business from home.  I can build solidly and confidently from where I currently am, and it’s giving me a real buzz.

There are a few key aspects that justify being singled out.  One of these is the concept of “polarisation”.  Making the business “stand out”.  Not being “middle of the road”.  There is no worse state in marketing than being invisible.  If customers do not know you exist then you have no chance of having them make a purchase.

Another key factor is having a substantial “staircase of options” for clients of every conceivable level, from miniscule low cost “starter pack” to extreme “king of the world”.  Hand in hand with this is never pre-empting the customer decision as to what level of status is “appropriate”.  Instead, always leave that decision to the customer.  Just make him aware of what levels he can aspire to, and then leave him to decide at what level to enter and to what level to climb.  There should never be a situation where the client feels he is either stretched to breaking, or not being stretched enough.  The options should be highly visible, and a forward path clearly laid out.

McDonalds, and many others before and since, understand that people will often strive to achieve “recognition” rather than money.  So building this into the “staircase” adds a whole special dimension.  MTTB has exotic holidays, and top quality cars, and a unique “sygnet ring” for those who reach specific levels.  While not appealing to everyone, it’s there for those who want it.

This summary would not be complete without a mention of the coaching.  This is what makes MTTB stand out from the crowd.  Initially I found it annoying.  Not being able to progress more than a couple of steps at a time without coach’s permission to proceed, had me seething at times.  In retrospect, it is exactly what forced me to properly understand each step, rather than skim or gloss over it.  When you know that, at the end of the step, you will have to explain that step to  a third party, regardless of who that third party is, really forces you to distill and summarise what you’ve learned in that step.  Even more valuable was getting answers to questions that I probably would not have bothered to ask.  That 10 minute discussion, around just the one topic, leaves you feeling like an absolute expert , able to take on anything the world can throw at you.

At times the OTT “ra-ra” style of some of the presentations can get a bit nauseating, but there are also many presenters who deliver detailed facts and figures.  One of the latter apologised for the “dry” and “unexciting” content of his part of the training, but - for me - his was the real “meat and potatoes” and I loved it (but then I am an accountant and an ex-engineer).

Would I recommend this course?  In a heartbeat.  $49 (£31) would buy a meal out for two.  Spend it on this course and change your entire lifestyle.  Whatever business you are in you will move it up several notches with your richer and fuller understanding of marketing.  If you decide to join the main MOBE business, selling the marketing training to others, you will not find a more fun team to be a part of.  Click the link below for a free video explaining the detail.
